The Art of Teaching and Learning was under discussion at the recent EFMD Annual Conference hosted by WU Vienna University of Economics and Business on 15 to 17 June.

The impressive and futuristic architecture of the new WU campus, its main building in particular, formed the perfect backdrop to discussions about the future of management education which included sessions on the role of technology and the design of learning spaces. In keeping with the theme — the opening keynote by Wolf Prix, Founder of COOP HIMMEL, dealt with his experience of overseeing the commissioning and construction of WU’s impressive new campus.

Jan Vogler, Cellist & General Director of the Dresden Music Festival treated participants to a short recital during Plenary where he was also in conversation with Joshua Jampol, Journalist and Author of the book “Living Opera”. The pair discussed Jan’s learnings on leadership and management from his lived experienced as musician.

Furthermore the event provided a perfect opportunity to reconnect with associates within the GRLI network including representatives from the following GRLI partner institutions:

  • Babson College
  • CENTRUM Graduate School Of Business
  • ESSEC Business School
  • ICN Graduate Business School
  • IESEG School of Management
  • Kedge Business School
  • Kemmy Business School
  • Maastricht University
  • Monash University
  • Oulu Business School
  • QUT Business School
  • University of Exeter Business School
  • University of St. Gallen
  • University of Stellenbosch USB-ED

Finally the GRLI core team, represented by Global Coordinator Eline Loux and John North, were in attendance and had an opportunity to share some of the latest GRLI publications and material with participants.
