Central to the 50+20 vision is the notion of a collaboratory circle which turns the new roles of management education into concrete action through constructive discussion. The 50+20 collaboratory can be symbolised using benches (that represent “emerging benchmarks”) arranged in a circle. PolyU commissioned local Hong Kong artists and design students to create a series of one-of-a-kind benches around the theme of Upcycling.
These benches create a strong visual impact and reinforce the issues discussed. Employing the upcycling theme, we will convert waste materials to several 2-seater benches. The benches will be used at our conference and permanently displayed at our campus after the conference.
